BeMyEye: review, how it works and Roamler comparison
BeMyEye is an app for location-based store assignments: you respond to a brief and your submission is assessed before payment. This review explains the workflow, the reliability checks that matter and the differences from Roamler, without treating an advertised reward as money already earned.

BeMyEye is an app for location-based store assignments: you respond to a brief and your submission is assessed before payment. This review explains the workflow, the reliability checks that matter and the differences from Roamler, without treating an advertised reward as money already earned.
This is a source-based assessment, not a personal earnings diary. Variable conditions were checked in November; unverified local details are identified rather than filled with numbers from comparison sites. You will also find a transparent calculation, a first-task walkthrough and a comparison with mystery shopping.

BeMyEye: what is it and how does the app work?
This part of BeMyEye is for people carrying out observations, rather than businesses buying retail data. Its user terms identify BeMyEye Holdings Ltd., incorporated in England and Wales. They describe an application with requests placed on a map. Keeping those audiences separate prevents a common misunderstanding: requesting a commercial demonstration of the software is not an application to carry out paid store assignments yourself.
The contractual workflow starts with a nearby available request. The first available person in the area may reserve it, removing it from availability for other participants. That explains why an attractive address can disappear between visits to the map. Do not travel merely because you previously saw a reward: check the reservation, the precise location and the remaining time in your own app before changing your route or making a special journey.
One request may contain several separately assessed elements. The terms distinguish submitted content from accepted content: a missing or rejected element can affect the amount eventually paid. Your pre-departure check should therefore focus on the required evidence, not just the maximum advertised reward. For an initial attempt, choose instructions you understand completely and a store you can reach without spending money specifically for that single opportunity.
Assess reliability across the whole journey: an identifiable operator, understandable instructions, assessment and a usable withdrawal route. An identifiable company does not make every assignment worthwhile for every person. Equally, one rejected submission does not by itself establish fraud. To resolve a problem, ask support which requirement is missing and use the official channel. Publishing confidential brief material on a public forum is not a sensible way to troubleshoot a payment or assessment issue.
BeMyEye review: what do you actually do in a store?
According to the BeMyEye user terms, missions can involve checking product availability, collecting prices and completing a questionnaire. The map attaches the request to an address. You are not merely selling a photograph: you are supplying evidence that matches a specific brief, which then needs to be evaluated.
The document explains that a mission can contain separately paid components. Its maximum is therefore not necessarily the amount you earn: if only some components are found, photographed and accepted, payment can be lower. Before reserving, distinguish the minimum, maximum and requirements that change the total. A readable price label does not replace a wider shelf photograph when both are requested.
BeMyEye provides for submitted material to be evaluated; rejected material is not payable under those terms. For a first attempt, choose a brief you fully understand at an address reachable without a substantial detour. If wording is ambiguous, ask for clarification before leaving. Never treat an absent product as permission to invent an answer or photograph a different store.
Our main reservation is the temptation to compare the maximum reward only with time spent in front of the shelf. Reading, locating the correct display and uploading are also part of the effort. Keep the instructions and mission reference so that you can explain a problem to support. This helps you document your work; it does not guarantee approval.
Worth testing alongside an existing journey after reading how individual components are paid. No guaranteed hourly income.
- Mission map and address described in the official terms
- Clearly published euro PayPal minimum
- Component-based compensation described in the contract
- Advertised maximum may not be earned
- Rejected material is unpaid
- Payment documents need careful reading: help and contract differ
Roamler review: store checks or professional assignments?
The Roamler Retail page describes Store Checks as collecting photographs and data about products, prices and displays. It separately lists merchandising, which involves working on displays or shelves, and sales. Activities offered under the same brand therefore do not necessarily carry the same commitment or administrative requirements.
Importantly, the page says that in France and Belgium the starred merchandising and sales activities require self-employed PRO status. That does not establish that every photographic check automatically requires that status. Nor does it prove that all other checks are exempt from formalities: read the conditions for your task category and country.
The Roamler Retail page confirms that submissions can be rejected. Check your country’s help centre for exact rejection reasons, appeal procedures and support contact options. As a precaution, provide readable photographs of the correct location, consistent with your answers and without identifiable people.
Check your app for the current simultaneous reservation limit. One task on your first outing lets you measure practical constraints without multiplying deadlines. Roamler also explains that locations can disappear once enough have been reserved. A map viewed in the morning is not a reservation for the evening; check again before travelling.
A documented field-work option, provided you separate checks from PRO activities and verify local payment rules.
- Task categories distinguished on the official page
- Disappearance of reserved locations explained
- Payments described on the English page; verify locally
- Reservations and available locations can change
- PRO status required for certain activities in France and Belgium
- Sterling payment terms cannot automatically be applied to euros
Which countries and cities can you actually work in?
A business page describing an international network is not a list of assignments available today. BeMyEye’s terms place missions on a map and allow currencies according to location. Check active addresses in your app before planning an outing.
Roamler displays PRO routes for France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany on its Retail page. These are official market references, not proof of assignments in every city within those countries. The FAQ explains why reserved locations can disappear. Even in a country mentioned by the operator, check your neighbourhood and account eligibility in the app.
For Madagascar, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon or any other country, check your local access to field assignments from both apps. A downloadable app listing is not proof of an active local market. Ask support whether you can register with your real residence, see local work and receive payments into an account available where you live.
In practice, compare two maps: available tasks and journeys you already make. In a city, nearby shops may make a detour manageable; in a rural area, one isolated location may require more travel. This geographical reasoning is not a statistic about actual supply. Only your own local check can establish whether an outing is worthwhile, without assuming that larger cities will always have better availability.
BeMyEye and Roamler: how and when do you get paid?
The BeMyEye help article on withdrawal minimums, lists €5 for euro PayPal withdrawals. The article on requesting payment names PayPal and Mellow for Russian users, with funds coming from assessed and approved missions. Check your account to see whether bank transfer is currently offered in your country.
The documents are not fully harmonised: the payment help article describes an interval between requests ranging from 1 to 15 days by level, while another article gives a table starting at 14 days for level one. The general terms provide for transfer within ten working days of instruction. That contractual period is neither mission approval time nor a promise of immediate receipt. Check your withdrawal screen and ask for clarification if the documents disagree.
For Roamler, the English page offers bank or PayPal withdrawal. It lists a 3% PayPal fee, a 40p fee for bank payments below £25 and no bank fee above £25. It describes transfers up to £50 as almost instant, with larger amounts requiring checks and usually transferred within a day. Check your French account’s terms rather than applying these sterling figures; the exact £25 boundary also needs checking.
Check the minimum, fee and timing displayed in your account before building a balance. For both apps, separate three stages: task approval, eligibility to request payment and receipt through the payment provider. A visible balance is not necessarily money immediately available to cover an urgent bill.

Official conditions checked in November. Sterling Roamler terms are local, not universal.
What is the real hourly value of a field assignment?
Read the reward shown for the actual assignment before reserving it. The following rounded amounts are therefore entirely illustrative, designed to explain a method rather than report BeMyEye or Roamler earnings. Imagine an approved task paying €6, requiring 15 minutes in-store plus 5 minutes of preparation and uploading. With no extra travel or costs, that works out at €18 per hour of time spent.
Add 20 minutes of return travel: the same reward over 40 minutes becomes €9 per hour. With 40 minutes of travel and €2 in direct costs, the remaining €4 over one hour becomes €4 per hour. These are neither hourly wages nor observed averages. The calculations exclude tax, possible social contributions and phone depreciation.
| Already there | €18/hour |
|---|---|
| 20 min travel | €9/hour |
| 40 min + €2 costs | €4/hour |
The useful formula is (approved payment − direct costs) × 60 ÷ total minutes. Also time finding the entrance, waiting, corrections and necessary messages. If a task is rejected, record zero revenue while keeping the time spent. Otherwise your records will exclude the least successful outings and overstate the value of your actual activity.
A task along your route is not necessarily cost-free: it might make you miss a bus or extend paid parking. Conversely, do not charge a task for the entire cost of a shopping trip you already planned. Separate expenses that would have occurred anyway from the additional costs caused by the task. This makes your personal calculation fairer without inventing a universal rate.
| Travel | 40 min |
|---|---|
| In-store | 15 min |
| Prepare and upload | 5 min |
How should you approach your first store-photo task?
Your first task should primarily answer one question: can you follow this kind of brief reliably in your actual surroundings? Pick an easy-to-reach address and leave time for uploading. A higher reward is not automatically preferable when the instructions look difficult. Do not stack reservations simply because the technical limit allows it.
- 1Check access
Confirm your real residence, supported market and account rules. Check the payment method before travelling.
- 2Read the full brief
Identify the exact address, time window, evidence, conditional reward and any status requirements. Resolve unclear instructions.
- 3Prepare your phone
Check battery, storage, camera, connectivity and necessary permissions. Plan your return journey.
- 4Work considerately
Follow the brief and store rules. Avoid faces; if a manager refuses permission, do not insist and contact support.
- 5Submit and monitor
Review photographs and answers, upload within the displayed deadline, then follow corrections and approval.
- 6Calculate the outcome
Record approved payment, total time and actual costs. Only then decide whether another outing makes sense.
For a usable photograph, reread the request before framing: does it need a specific product, a price or an entire display? Check readability on the screen, not only in the thumbnail. Do not alter evidence to imply a different situation. If requested information is missing, use only the procedure described in the brief or ask for help; guessing can make the whole submission inconsistent.
Put your safety and other people’s safety ahead of approval. Never take photographs while driving or block an aisle to obtain a particular angle. If a task becomes impractical, check the app’s cancellation procedure and consequences rather than assuming they are identical across both services. A documented conversation is better than a submission filled with invented answers.

Which costs, practical limits and risks should you plan for?
Your smartphone is the working tool: low battery, full storage or weak connectivity can interfere with submission. Check connectivity before uploading and leave time to try again if necessary. Avoid planning a route so tightly that a few minutes spent uploading will cause a missed deadline. The relevant deadline remains the one shown in your task brief.
Mobile-data and transport costs depend on your plan, vehicle and additional journey. Record actual spending rather than copying a national estimate. Walking may cost little cash while still taking time; our comparison of walking rewards and micro-tasks helps separate these dimensions.
Do not choose a task merely to justify a purchase. If spending is required, explicitly check whether it is reimbursed, what evidence is needed and what limits apply; otherwise do not assume it is covered. Check reimbursable expenses in each assignment’s terms. Checking a shelf does not authorise access to staff-only areas or bypassing a store’s refusal.
- Good sign:Address, opening hours and completion deadline checked in the brief.
- Good sign:Conditional reward understood; costs and return travel time calculated.
- Good sign:Usable withdrawal method and status rules checked for your country.
- Good sign:Enough battery, mobile data and storage.
- Warning sign:You are asked to invent an answer or conceal your real residence.
- Warning sign:Travel consumes almost the entire reward before any tax.
Do you need self-employed status and tax reporting?
BeMyEye’s terms describe occasional assignments and exclude the creation of an employment relationship. That is the operator’s contractual description, not a legal assessment of your circumstances. Roamler explicitly requires self-employed PRO status for the specified merchandising and sales activities in France and Belgium. None of this supports promising employee rights to everyone who downloads either app.
It would be equally misleading to infer that small amounts are automatically exempt from reporting, or that a platform’s own cap is a tax-free allowance. Ask the relevant authority which legal threshold applies to your circumstances. Before working regularly, ask the relevant authority where you reside which reporting, registration and contribution obligations apply to your actual activity.
Keep a basic log: date, platform, reference, gross amount, fees, amount received and supporting document. Separate pending rewards from actual payments, and retain expense receipts without assuming deductibility. Deduction rules and the legal classification of your income must be confirmed locally. Our tax information page is a starting point rather than personalised advice.
Field assignments, mystery shopping or product testing?
Choose by what triggers payment rather than by the app icon. A shelf check centres on evidence about a location and product. A mystery-shopping visit may require following a service-experience scenario: read the actual brief before comparing time and rewards. Our mystery-shopping guide explores that approach without treating every store photograph as a mystery visit.
Product testing follows another logic: receiving or trying something does not necessarily mean being paid money. Our guides on becoming a product tester and paid product testing help frame that question before registration. A purchase refund or discount should not be counted as income as though it paid for work independent of that purchase.
Before trying another field app, check its current terms, eligibility and payout process. Similarly, a walking-reward assessment such as our WeWard review answers a different question; do not apply its reward criteria to store checks requiring approval.
| Field check | Mystery visit | Home micro-tasks | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What to examine | On-site evidence | Scenario and report | Displayed instructions |
| Travel | Include in your calculation | Include for an on-site visit | No store journey in this comparison |
| Possible purchase | Check; never assume reimbursement | Check the brief | Do not transfer field-work rules |
| Shared limitation | Approval and availability | Assignment conditions | Availability and checks |
Compare the purpose of the activity, not just the headline reward. Educational distinctions: the individual brief remains decisive.
BeMyEye, Roamler or Microtaches at home: which fits you?
Microtaches is another possible supplement, not a universal replacement for field apps. It offers short micro-tasks with instructions displayed in each task. The number available varies by day, country and profile. Compare available tasks and their terms rather than assuming a home-based account earns more than an in-store assignment.
Registration is free and restricted to people of legal adult age in their country of residence. Each account is reviewed and approved by the team, and the profile questionnaire must be completed. An accepted task must be finished within 60 minutes, with a maximum of three accepted at once. Leaving an accepted task unanswered when time expires incurs a 20-Ops penalty. Some answers are manually checked before crediting.
The practical home-based advantage in this comparison is not travelling to a store, rather than an absence of constraints. You still need to read instructions, manage deadlines and have connectivity. Ops are an internal unit, not euros: their value depends on whether you withdraw or use the shop. Compare convertible amounts and access conditions rather than the number of points on screen.

|---|---|---|---|
| Organisation | Mapped address | Checks defined by the brief | Short micro-tasks, displayed instructions |
| Time risk | Travel and rejected material | Travel and rejected submissions | 60-min deadline per accepted task |

How do withdrawals work for home micro-tasks?
The methods below belong to Microtaches only, not BeMyEye or Roamler. Also check whether the provider can receive funds for you in your country. Bank transfer requires an account with an IBAN; if your bank does not issue one, check with it rather than assuming the withdrawal will work.
| Type | Availability | Where it is used | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bank transfer (IBAN) | Bank | Available from the usual minimum | Bank account with an IBAN, in Europe or elsewhere (fixed fee outside Europe) |
| MVola | Mobile money | Available from 25,000 Ops | Madagascar |
| Orange Money | Mobile money | Available from 25,000 Ops | Madagascar, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Cameroon, Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea, DR Congo… |
| Wave | Mobile money | Available from 25,000 Ops | Senegal, Ivory Coast, Mali, Burkina Faso… |
| MTN MoMo | Mobile money | Available from 25,000 Ops | Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Benin, Guinea, Congo, Ghana… |
| PayPal | Online wallet | Available from 25,000 Ops | Countries where PayPal lets you receive money |
| Skrill | Online wallet | Available from 25,000 Ops | International online wallet |

| Revolut | Neobank | Coming soon (no date yet) | Coming soon |
| Crypto | Cryptocurrency | Coming soon (no date yet) | Coming soon |
Methods shown on the Withdrawals page of your Microtaches account. Countries listed are examples where the service is common.
On Microtaches, one Ops is worth €0.0042 for withdrawal and €0.0082 in the shop. With a 5,000-Ops withdrawal minimum and a 10,000-Ops non-withdrawable reserve, the first minimum bank withdrawal therefore requires a 15,000-Ops balance. The 5,000 Ops requested represents €21 before any fees: the reserve is not part of that payment. The platform annual cap is not a tax threshold.
Identity verification is mandatory before the first withdrawal or shop order; an account belonging to a minor is refused during verification. Shop orders are processed within two weeks at most. These delays and thresholds rule out describing Microtaches as an immediate cash-flow solution. Read the withdrawal information and FAQ before choosing this option.
BeMyEye: what should you check before reserving?
| Check | Remember | |
|---|---|---|
| Reservation | Address and deadline | Do not travel based on an old screenshot |
| Evidence | Required elements | Clarify before travelling |
| Payment | Accepted content and usable method | Separate acceptance from withdrawal |
Source: BeMyEye: official terms and help, checked in November. Practical checks, not a work guarantee.
Prepare a fallback before travelling. If the store is closed, the specified location cannot be found or a required photograph is impossible, do not fabricate evidence just to finish. Return to the instructions and contact assistance through the appropriate route. Record only your own time and travel constraints. The purpose of this trial is to discover whether the workflow suits you, not to turn every journey into an obligation to produce a profitable result.
Keep commercial observation separate from a public consumer review. The BeMyEye activity described in its terms responds to a specific request; it does not authorise invented recommendations or the exposure of identifiable shoppers. Frame photographs around the required subject and minimise personal information. If a request appears to exceed what you are comfortable sharing, ask for clarification before reserving rather than discovering your boundary halfway through a store visit.
When comparing two apps, compare the same realistic outing rather than two advertising maxima. Ask which address fits your route, which brief you can complete and which payment route works in your name. Our guide to mystery shopping in Belgium adds context for Belgian readers without replacing local app conditions. A comparison remains useful even if your final decision is not to reserve any assignments this week.
After an initial submission, check its status before planning several further outings. A reservation is not acceptance, acceptance is not arrival in your payment account, and meeting a minimum does not necessarily remove applicable waiting periods. Reading the process in stages helps you ask support a precise question. It also lets you track your own income and costs without copying confidential images, client details or assignment instructions into personal notes or public discussions.
Final verdict: who should consider field assignments?
BeMyEye and Roamler can suit people already near listed addresses, comfortable producing precise photographic evidence and willing to manage approval. When comparing the apps, local availability, your status and the net amount received matter more than brand preference. Try one nearby task before planning a lengthy route, then decide using an outcome that has actually been paid.
If you need a long journey for one small assignment, have inflexible hours or cannot establish how payment will reach your country, waiting for a better opportunity may be wiser. Home-based work can remove that journey, but not eligibility rules or variable availability. A sound decision is one where you can explain the time, costs and conditions without relying on an exceptional earnings screenshot.
- Is BeMyEye an employed job?
- BeMyEye’s user terms describe occasional assignments and exclude the creation of an employment relationship. That describes the proposed contract, not your personal legal classification in every country. Do not rely on a salary, a set number of hours or regular assignments. Check your local obligations and read each task brief before reserving a journey. The existence of an app account is not evidence of employee benefits.
- What is the BeMyEye withdrawal minimum?
- The BeMyEye help centre lists a €5 minimum for euro PayPal withdrawals, checked in November. This is a withdrawal threshold, not a guaranteed registration reward. Missions must be assessed and approved first. Also check the interval between requests and the information in your wallet: the help articles and terms are not fully consistent about the level-based intervals. Ask support if your screen differs.
- Does Roamler pay through PayPal or a bank?
- The English Roamler Retail page lists both options. It publishes sterling-denominated terms, including a 3% PayPal fee. That does not confirm identical fees, minimums or timing for French, Belgian or other-market accounts. Check the local minimum in your payment screen, together with the fee and whether the payment provider can receive funds for you. Do not convert the British thresholds into supposed local rules.
- Do you need self-employed status for Roamler?
- Roamler’s official page says the specified merchandising and sales activities require self-employed PRO status in France and Belgium. That requirement should not be extended without evidence to every photographic check. Equally, do not infer a general exemption for other activities. Check the task category, country rules and applicable formalities before working regularly. Contract wording alone is not personalised legal or tax advice for your circumstances.
- How much does a paid store-photo mission earn?
- Read the amount and its conditions in the individual brief. Use the actual assignment reward rather than an online average earnings claim. The €6 calculation in this article is entirely illustrative. For your own records, use the approved payment, subtract direct costs and include preparation, travel, performance, uploading and any corrections. An advertised maximum need not be the amount actually earned.
- Can you do assignments in rural areas?
- That depends on the actual map and your account conditions. No verified list of currently served cities was established for this article. A rural address may work well along a journey you already planned and poorly as a dedicated trip. Do not equate advertised national coverage with work near your home: check the precise location and reservation before leaving. Geography helps your calculation but does not prove availability.
- Why might a Roamler task be rejected?
- Roamler’s Retail page states that submissions can be rejected. Consult your country’s help centre for exact rules, explanations and appeal options. As a precaution, check photograph readability, location and consistency with your answers. Completing a visit does not guarantee payment; read the specific brief before travelling.
- Do these apps work in Madagascar or Africa?
- In Madagascar, Côte d’Ivoire or Cameroon, check access to BeMyEye or Roamler assignments for your local situation rather than generalising across a continent. Ask support whether your real residence is accepted, local locations are active and you can receive payment. Downloading the app proves none of those three conditions. Do not plan travel or assume earnings until your own local access has been confirmed.
- Is Microtaches more profitable than field assignments?
- Do not assume that home-based work is more profitable than field assignments. Microtaches offers short micro-tasks with displayed instructions; availability varies by day, country and profile. At home you avoid the store journey in this comparison, but you must still follow task rules and withdrawal conditions. Compare actual time and convertible amounts rather than point totals alone. A different working arrangement is not evidence of a higher or more reliable income.
- Do you need to report assignment earnings?
- Do not assume that a small amount, occasional activity or internal platform cap removes reporting obligations. This article does not verify a single legal threshold applicable to every reader. Your local authority must confirm reporting, status and contributions for your circumstances. Keep payment statements and documented costs without assuming that every expense is deductible. Platform rules and national tax rules answer different questions and should not be confused.
- Is BeMyEye business software or an assignment app?
- Do not confuse the two routes. The app terms describe participants completing location-based observations, while the commercial offering is for businesses purchasing that data. To carry out an assignment, follow the app user journey rather than the demonstration form intended for business customers.
- Why can a BeMyEye assignment disappear from the map?
- The terms allow the first available nearby participant to reserve a request, taking it out of availability for others. An address you previously saw is therefore not an assignment waiting for you. Check its actual status in your own app before planning travel or changing an existing route.
