MyPoints review: countries, rewards and verified limits

This MyPoints review starts with a practical question: can you actually use the rewards you want where you live? Identifying the company behind a platform is only the first step. You also need an eligible account, an available points balance and a reward that works in your country.

Our approach separates published rules, information that must be checked inside an account and illustrative calculations. Official help pages are linked alongside the relevant explanations. Where something remains uncertain, we leave that uncertainty visible rather than replacing it with an attractive but unsupported number.

MyPoints review: what is it, and who runs it?

MyPoints is a points-based loyalty programme. An eligible activity can add points to your balance, which can later be used to request a reward. The MyPoints help page on earning points lists online shopping, surveys and travel bookings among its examples. These are possible activities, not a promise that every member will have access to each one.

Prodege’s terms identify MyPoints and Swagbucks among the services it owns and operates. That ownership link helps explain the wider business, but it does not make the two services interchangeable. A redemption threshold, points currency or country rule found on Swagbucks is not evidence that MyPoints applies the same rule. Each programme needs to be checked on its own documentation.

For context, read our Swagbucks review. We do not import its reward rates into this article. Instead, we ask what MyPoints documentation actually supports. In particular, we do not treat one point as a fixed euro amount without checking the reward selected, its denomination and the points needed to obtain it.

MyPoints in France: how do you check eligibility?

A page loading in your browser, or appearing in a language you understand, does not establish eligibility. Availability must therefore be checked during sign-up, using your actual country of residence.

A help page about receipt uploads lists stores in the United States and Canada. That describes a particular feature; it is not a general sign-up eligibility rule. Treating the two as equivalent would turn a feature-specific statement into an unsupported country restriction. Likewise, seeing a dollar-denominated gift card does not by itself prove whether a French resident can join the programme.

If sign-up does not give you a clear answer, ask support for confirmation before investing time in the programme. Do not use a false address, a purchased account or a virtual private network to pretend you live elsewhere. A geographical restriction should be respected, not bypassed. Checking first also avoids building a balance only to discover that the reward you wanted cannot be used.

How do shopping, surveys and offers earn points?

Shopping starts by going through MyPoints before buying from a participating merchant. Cashback means a reward connected to spending; it does not mean every purchase automatically produces a cash refund. MyPoints describes points, whose eventual use depends on the rewards catalogue. Your final purchase price should remain the main consideration, ahead of any advertised reward attached to the transaction.

Surveys use a different mechanism: you provide answers rather than make a purchase. Your profile and the questionnaire’s requirements matter to selection. An invitation should not be treated as certain payment. Our guide to assessing paid survey sites offers a complementary framework without pretending that a single average income applies to everyone who participates.

For an offer, read the requirements before starting: what action is expected, whether spending is involved, any deadline and the evidence worth keeping. If the reward only looks attractive when you buy something unnecessary, skipping it may be the better decision. A reward does not automatically turn spending into profit.

Why can shopping points be missing or pending?

Tracking is the technical link between your visit through MyPoints and the order reported by the merchant. According to the official purchase-tracking guidance, you should start from MyPoints and avoid interrupting the purchase journey with other sites. External coupon codes and software that blocks tracking can interfere with attribution. Read these conditions before buying, not just after points fail to appear.

The help page on crediting purchases separates reporting from the pending period. Many merchants report purchases within 2–5 business days, while some may take up to 30 days. After reporting, points remain pending for 30 days from the posting date. These stages are successive: reporting comes before the 30-day pending period. The page specifies business days for the usual 2–5 days, but does not specify business days for either 30-day period.

For travel, the same guidance says points should post within 60 days after the completed trip, unless stated otherwise. Cancellations, returns or a merchant reversing its commission can lead to points being reversed, as explained in the dedicated help page. Keep the order confirmation, date and conditions. A pending balance is not money already available to pay a bill.

MyPoints review: rewards and minimum redemptions

The rewards help page describes gift cards and electronic certificates, while a separate page documents PayPal. The catalogue available to your account is where you should verify the partner, face value and required points. Confirm the current minimum for each option in your account catalogue before redeeming; older thresholds published elsewhere should not be treated as current rules.

The verified rule is straightforward: only available points, not pending points, can be redeemed. The catalogue shows accessible options in black and unavailable ones in grey. A greyed-out reward can therefore reflect an insufficient available balance or points still pending. Its appearance does not establish a universal conversion rate, nor does it prove that all rewards use the same points-to-value relationship.

To assess a reward, divide its face value by the required points, then check its currency, redemption territory and restrictions. That calculation applies only to that reward at the time you view it. Do not automatically treat dollars as euros or compare raw point totals across platforms. The name or size of the unit tells you nothing on its own about purchasing power.

How long do gift cards and PayPal take?

The points-redemption help page says gift cards are emailed within 3 business days, though some cases may take up to 10 business days. Those timings concern delivery after redemption, not the entire journey from making a purchase. Pending points and any verification are separate stages. Avoid planning an urgent expense around a reward that has not yet arrived or treating the standard delivery period as an absolute guarantee.

For PayPal, the official pages differ. How to redeem a PayPal reward says to allow up to 5 business days. How long after redemption says it typically takes 10 business days to initiate the transfer, and also contains wording about a gift card. Ask support which timeline applies instead of relying on the faster statement.

The PayPal page also requires the full name and email address on both accounts to match exactly, and the PayPal account to be verified. Check those details before requesting a reward. If you live somewhere with limited receiving functionality, confirm directly with the payment provider what your account can receive. An option appearing in a rewards catalogue is not a substitute for checking local provider availability.

MyPoints account rules: identity, security and restrictions

The official identity-verification FAQ says MyPoints may request a check through Persona. Typical requested material includes government-issued identification and a selfie, depending on the verification flow. The page allows for an additional review lasting up to 10 business days. This is a possible review, not evidence that every member undergoes exactly the same check at the same stage.

The suspension help page lists operating multiple accounts and using bots, scripts or automated software among possible reasons for suspension. Stick to one account and consistent information. Do not create another profile to bypass a blocked account. The existence of an appeal route does not guarantee reinstatement: the situation still needs to be assessed through the support or verification process provided by the platform.

If verification is offered after a suspension, use the link in the official account flow. If it is unavailable or does not resolve the issue, the help page directs members to an Account Inquiry. It says a second inquiry about the same suspension slows the review. Keep a clear record rather than sending repeated requests, and do not send identity documents to someone contacting you outside an official channel.

MyPoints vs Swagbucks, French cashback sites and Microtaches

These options do not all meet the same need. Cashback accompanies a purchase, a survey panel collects answers, and Microtaches provides short micro-tasks with instructions displayed within each task. Start with your goal: reducing the cost of planned spending or setting aside time for an activity. Our cashback versus micro-tasks guide explores that distinction rather than treating the models as interchangeable.

For Swagbucks and French cashback services, consult the intended provider’s official page before signing up: countries, minimums, exclusions, fees and delivery periods all need checking. Being similar to MyPoints does not automatically make a service the best replacement. Our overview of sites to compare with Swagbucks is a starting point, not proof that every listed service accepts your residence.

If questionnaires suit your preferences, our Prime Opinion review and Ipsos iSay review examine those options separately. Check their earnings terms, thresholds and eligible countries in their own documentation. A useful comparison must also leave room for the conclusion that none of the options currently suits you, rather than pushing registration at any cost.

Microtaches: a different alternative, with what limits?

Microtaches registration is free and restricted to people who have reached the legal age of adulthood in their country of residence. Every account is reviewed and approved by the team, and a profile questionnaire must be completed. An account opened by a minor is refused at identity verification. Completing a registration form should therefore not be confused with automatically receiving approval to participate.

An accepted task must be completed within 60 minutes, and no more than 3 tasks can be accepted at once. An accepted task left without an answer when its time expires incurs a 20-Ops penalty. Some answers are reviewed manually before Ops are credited. Task availability varies by day, country and profile, so neither a particular workload nor a regular income is guaranteed.

The chart below shows community presence, not earning opportunities. It uses rounded counts of approved, non-blocked accounts and does not measure people active today or their income. It also does not prove that any particular payment provider serves every reader in those countries. This distinction matters especially when looking for an option from Madagascar or another country with a French-speaking readership.

How do Ops, the reserve and withdrawals work?

Ops are the Microtaches unit. One Ops has a shop value of €0.0082 for gift cards and a withdrawal value of €0.0042. Those rates are not interchangeable: the same balance has a different value depending on how it is used. The Ops calculator can help with a conversion, but its result is not a promise that enough tasks will be available to build that balance.

Identity verification becomes available from a balance of 1,000 Ops, is processed within at most 7 business days, and is mandatory before the first withdrawal or shop order. The withdrawal minimum is 5,000 Ops alongside a non-withdrawable reserve of 10,000 Ops. A first minimum bank withdrawal therefore requires a 15,000-Ops balance; only 5,000 Ops are withdrawn in that example, with the reserve remaining in the account.

Payments are made within at most 3 weeks, and shop orders within at most 2 weeks. The annual withdrawal cap is €2,500. A bank transfer outside Europe carries a fixed fee of 800 Ops and requires an account with an IBAN. If your bank does not issue IBANs, check directly with it; we do not present this transfer option as working without an IBAN.

Which Microtaches withdrawal methods should you check?

The methods below belong to Microtaches, not MyPoints. A listed method does not guarantee that its provider allows you to receive money in your country. Check provider-side availability and conditions, then consult the withdrawals page before choosing.

How can you evaluate MyPoints without avoidable surprises?

Your first goal should not be accumulating as many points as possible. It should be checking a complete, compliant path from participation to a useful reward. Start with residence eligibility, then an appropriate reward, then an activity with understandable requirements. If one link is missing, stop there. You can return once you have an official answer instead of building more assumptions on top of an uncertain starting point.

A four-step verification process
  1. 1
    Check residence eligibility

Use your real country at sign-up and look for confirmation that you qualify. If it is unclear, ask support before participating.

  2. 2
    Select a useful reward

Record its current minimum, currency and restrictions in the catalogue. Check the receiving account before requesting PayPal.

  3. 3
    Read the activity requirements

For a planned purchase, keep the offer and order evidence. For other activities, check the criteria without assuming payment is certain.

  4. 4
    Track each stage separately

Distinguish reporting, pending points, available points and the reward request. Keep dates to make any support inquiry easier to understand.

Also keep track of your real time: reading conditions, participating and following up if necessary. A point balance alone does not account for spending or time committed. Do not infer an hourly income from a single opportunity or a reward that is still pending. To decide whether to continue, the more useful question is whether the effort and uncertainty fit your own preferences and circumstances.

Before continuing
  • Good sign:My actual residence is confirmed as eligible.
  • Good sign:The reward is usable and its minimum has been checked in the account.
  • Good sign:I distinguish available points from pending points.
  • Warning sign:I am spending solely to collect points.
  • Warning sign:I am creating another account or changing residence details to bypass a rule.

Our verdict: who might MyPoints suit?

MyPoints is worth considering if eligibility is confirmed, the catalogue contains something useful and you understand the requirements of the activities you intend to try. Its owner is identifiable and its help pages explain the process. These are useful transparency signals, not guarantees that every activity earns points or every request is completed within the shortest published timeframe.

For French-speaking readers, the main issue remains actual access to the service and the reward. Unconfirmed country rules and minimums should not be replaced with assertions from a comparison site. If MyPoints does not work for you, consider a cashback service suited to your purchases, a panel suited to your profile, or Microtaches as a different model. None should be assumed suitable for everyone.

A case for checking, not for promising

MyPoints is an identifiable programme best evaluated through the catalogue and rules available to your account.

Strengths
  • Identifiable owner: Prodege
  • Official help covering shopping, rewards and security
  • Several documented ways to collect points
Limitations
  • Eligible countries require a sign-up check
  • Current minimums require an account check
  • Two official pages give different PayPal timings
Best for: People with confirmed eligibility who can use a reward without unnecessary spending.
Is MyPoints legitimate?
MyPoints is owned and operated by Prodege, which also owns and operates Swagbucks. Its official help describes shopping, redemption and account verification. That identifies the programme, but does not guarantee earnings or an individual delivery time. This review is based on documentation, not a tested withdrawal. Check your eligibility and a useful reward before investing time in the programme.
Can you use MyPoints in France?
Check availability at sign-up using your actual residence, then check the account catalogue. A website loading in France is not proof that you can participate. If eligibility remains unclear, ask support for confirmation before collecting points or making a purchase with a reward in mind.
Are MyPoints and Swagbucks the same service?
MyPoints and Swagbucks are both owned and operated by Prodege, but they are separate services. Do not transfer redemption minimums, country rules or point units from one to the other. Compare each service’s own documentation and the rewards accessible to your account. Shared ownership does not establish that their catalogues, eligibility requirements or reward conversion rules are identical.
What is the MyPoints minimum redemption?
Confirm the current minimum for each reward in your account catalogue before redeeming. Check the signed-in catalogue and record the offered value, required points and restrictions. Only available points, excluding pending points, can be redeemed.
How much is a MyPoints point worth?
This review does not claim an unverified universal conversion rate. For a specific reward, divide its face value by its required points, then check currency and usability conditions. The result applies to that option, not necessarily the whole catalogue. Do not directly compare MyPoints totals with another service’s point units or assume that a dollar-denominated reward has the same value in euros.
How long does MyPoints PayPal take?
The two official pages consulted differ: the dedicated PayPal reward help says up to 5 business days, while another says typically 10 business days to initiate the transfer and also includes gift-card wording. Ask support which deadline applies to your request. Your full name and email must match those on a verified PayPal account; check those requirements before making the request.
Why are my shopping points pending?
MyPoints help separates purchase reporting from the pending period. Merchants often report within 2–5 business days, while some take up to 30 days. Points then remain pending for 30 days after posting, not after purchase. Only an available balance can be redeemed. Keep your order evidence and review tracking requirements before contacting support about points that have not appeared.
Can MyPoints ask for identification?
Yes. The official FAQ describes possible verification through Persona, typically involving government-issued identification and a selfie according to the requested process. An additional review may take up to 10 business days. This does not mean every member receives exactly the same check. Use official channels only, and do not open another account to bypass verification or a restriction on an existing account.
What alternatives should you consider if MyPoints is unavailable?
Compare models rather than promises: cashback for planned purchases, panels for questionnaires, or Microtaches for short micro-tasks with instructions displayed within each task. Consult competitors’ official pages for countries, minimums and timings. Microtaches uses a different model, with reviewed accounts and variable task availability; it is not an identical replacement for MyPoints, and none of these options guarantees regular earnings.
What balance is needed for a first Microtaches withdrawal?
The withdrawal minimum is 5,000 Ops and a 10,000-Ops reserve cannot be withdrawn. A first minimum bank withdrawal therefore needs a 15,000-Ops balance, mandatory identity verification and a bank account with an IBAN. Other listed methods have their own conditions. A method appearing on the platform does not guarantee that its provider allows you to receive funds in your country.
